The minors were very unfortunate in losing this game played at Paddy Cullen park in a high scoring affair. Ardboe got off to a flying start and led 5 points to nil after 10 minutes of play. This proved to be the end of Ardboe's purple spell as Cookstown then launched an assault scoring 2 – 3 without reply. Half time arrived with Ardboe trailing by 4. The second half proved to be a very tense affair with both sides putting on an exhibition with Ardboe staging a real fightback in the final 10 minutes. Ardboe lost influential forward Mattie Bell in the final few minutes and hopefully he will be back soon. The introduction of Gavin Teague proved a very postive move and seemed to inspire his teamates to greater efforts. In spite of all out attack the young Rossa side went down by a single point at the end of a very exciting and intense match. The team can take great encouragement in spite of the defeat and hopefully they will go on to take maximum points in the next round of matches.
