The Seniors picked up a further two League points on Tuesday evening with a hard fought victory over Omagh at Healy Park
Ardboe dug deep on Tuesday evening to see off the challenge of Omagh at Healy Park, and in turn picked up a vital two League points to keep their unbeaten start to the season going.
Playing against the breeze in the opening half, Ardboe got off to a bright start with a Mickey Coleman point inside the first minute. Omagh fought back straight away to level and both team took time to adjust to the conditions, with Tommy McGuigan landing the next point ten minutes later. The same player then broke through for the first goal of the game, rounding the keeper to open up a four point lead for Ardboe. Omagh again fought back with two points, but these were quickly cancelled out by two Anthony Devlin points. However, Omagh produced a strong finish to the half, and they scored a goal right on the stroke of half time to hold a one point lead at half time, 1-05 to 1-04.
Frank McGuigan's first point of the day brought the sides level again, but Omagh opened up a two point lead with a couple of frees. It was then that Ardboe began to turn the screw, and four Frank McGuigan points opened up a two point lead of their own. From there on in it was nip and tuck with Omagh landing two points either side of another McGuigan free. Omagh applied some late pressure but never troubled the Ardboe goal, and when Gavin Wylie fisted a late point the game was all over
