Three points from four for Minors

The Minors opened their League campaign this week and remain unbeaten after a win and a draw in their first two matches

League Round 1

League Round 2

Derrytresk were the visitors to Michael Coney Park on Thursday night and left with a share of the spoils after both teams produced an entertaining hours football.

Ardboe got off to a bright start with a couple of nice points from Mark Wylie.  Derrytresk soon grabbed the initiative and with the aid of the wind opened up a comfortable three point lead.  Scores from Luke Quinn and Oliver Coyle narrowed the gap, but Derrytresk finished the half well to go in 0-08 to 0-05 ahead at the break.

The second half started in similar fashion with Ardboe narrowing the gap through a couple of free kicks.  But Derrytresk kicked on and stretched their lead to four points midway through the half.  However, Ardboe refused to lie down and excellent points from Shay McGuigan and Conor Coyle closed the deficit.  Derrytresk scored again, but a goal by Oliver Coyle levelled the game up and after both sides traded scores the final whistle came with the game ending in a deserved draw.
