The Minors continued thier unbeaten League form with a comprehensive 11 point victory over Derrylaughan on Wednesday evening
Ardboe visited Derrylaughan on Wednesday evening looking to pick up another two points and continue their unbeaten start to the League and thats just what they did, running out winners on a final scoreline of 2-15 to 0-10.
Derrylaughan got out of the blocks quickly and raced into a four point lead early on. Ardboe didn't let this affect them and they quickly got into their stride with points from Daniel McElroy, Conan Campbell and Shay McGuigan (2) levelling the scores. Shortly after both teams were reduced to 14 men with Conan Campbell seeing red for Ardboe, but they continued to press home their advantage and a Joe Quinn point followed by a Thomas Wylie penalty opened up a three point lead at half time, 1-06 to 0-06.
Ardboe started the second half strongly and points from Mark Wylie helped to extend the lead. Another Thomas Wylie goal put the result beyond doubt but to their credit Derrylaughan continued to fightback and tagged on some fine scores towards the end of the game. It was Ardboe who finished the stronger though with Shay McGuigan adding a couple of impressive points late on.
