Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold our normal AGM face-to-face as we are all accustomed to, so this year to be inclusive of all members we have agreed to follow GAA guidelines in holding an AGM day which allows for social distancing and enables all members to input as they wish.
This will be held on Sunday 24th January.
What is an AGM Day?
An AGM day is not a physical meeting that we are all used and accustomed to. Club reports will still be generated and available for members to view and ask any questions on. Members will also be able to vote on any position nominations to the Executive Committee. Nominations and motions have already been submitted and can be viewed by clicking HERE
In accordance with the GAA’s guidance on an AGM day, the following will happen:
(a) Minutes of previous AGM adopted by the Executive Committee
(b) Members given the option to submit questions on the Secretary’s report and any such questions to be answered by the Executive within one week of the date selected as AGM day.
(c) Members given the option to submit questions on the Financial Statements including the Report of the Accountant(s) or Auditor(s) and any such questions to be answered by the Executive within one week of the date selected as AGM day.
(d) Election of Officers and Members of the Executive Committee to be conducted by means of Delivered Vote. (The onus is on the voter to ensure that the vote is submitted and in time)
(e) Notices of Motion to be considered by the Executive Committee
(f) Other business: Members to be given the option to submit queries/comments which will be considered by the Executive Committee, no later than two weeks after AGM day.
To supplement this AGM day members of the executive committee will be available to answer any questions from our members, with copies of reports available to view on Sunday 24th January, 3-5pm in Ardboe Parish Centre.
If you choose to attend, please adhere to social distancing, follow protocols in place and wear a mask.
Nominations
8.6 In the event of the number of Nominees for any particular Executive Committee position being equal to or less than the number of positions to be filled, such Nominees shall be declared elected, and any positions left unfilled, due to the lack of Nominees or Nominees withdrawing, shall be filled by the new Executive Committee, as soon as practical after the Annual General Meeting.
In accordance with the above rule in our club constitution, as position nominations equal the number of positions to be filled, all nominees for those positions shall be declared elected, therefore no vote needs to take place on the day. Any unfilled positions will be filled by the incoming Executive Committee as soon as practical.
Motions
As per the GAA’s guidance on an AGM day, any motions received will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
Members have the option to ask any questions on these motions to the Executive Committee at the AGM day, before motions are brought to the next committee meeting to be considered.
If you are unable to make it on the day and have any queries or wish to view any reports, please contact the following:
