THE DATES, TIMES AND VENUES for round two of the W J Dolan Tyrone senior football championship and the opening rounds of the 2006 intermediate and junior championships were finalised at a GAC meeting on Wednesday night.
Eight clubs will be making their entrance to the senior championship on the first weekend of June, namely holders Carrickmore, Gortin, Clonoe, Clann na nGael, Aghaloo, Omagh, Moy and Killeeshil. The remaining eight sides in the competition already have a victory under their belt from the opening round in early May.
The W J Dolan senior championship will resume with a double bill in Dunmoyle on Friday 2nd June, five days after Tyrone’s Ulster championship clash with Derry. Dromore will face Edendork in the opening tie of the round with holders Carrickmore and Gortin meeting afterwards.
On Saturday 3rd June, Drumquin, Clonoe, Coalisland and Clann na nGael will be in senior championship action at Killyclogher and on Sunday 4th June there will be further instalments at Coalisland and Carrickmore in the afternoon and at Edendork in the evening.
The afternoon O’Neill Cup games will feature Aghaloo, Ardboe, Killyclogher and Omagh, with both encounters preceded by intermediate championship ties. Dungannon, Brackaville, Augher and Eglish will launch the intermediate series in the curtain-raisers at Coalisland and Carrickmore.
Moy, Donaghmore, Errigal Ciaran and Killeeshil will bring the curtain down on the busy weekend programme when they feature in an attractive evening double header at Edendork, bringing round two of the senior championship to a close.
The remaining first round ties in the intermediate and junior championships will then be staged the following weekend. There will be junior championship double bills on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June at Newtownstewart and Greencastle, featuring Owen Roes, Tattyreagh, Glenelly, Beragh, Derrytresk, Dregish, Brockagh and Castlederg.
The concluding games in round one of the intermediate championship will take place on Sunday 11th June with Drumragh and Strabane meeting at Aghyaran and Killyman and Derrylaughan clashing at Dungannon.
If there are no draws over the two weekends, the senior, intermediate and junior championships will be down to the quarter-final stage after the two intermediate games on Sunday 11th June.
