This weeks notes…
The under 16’s exited the championship at the weekend when
they travelled to Galbally to face Omagh in the Semi final and on the day were
beaten by the better team. Things seemed to be going well within the first few
minutes with a goal from Gavin Teague and a point from Kyle Coney to get
proceedings under way but Omagh soon responded and got two goals after Ardboe’s
defence was cut open and finished strongly leading by 3 points at the break
while Sean Hagan and Kyle Coney kept Ardboe in touch. Half Time Ardboe 1-5
Omagh 2-5. The second half wasn’t much to write about with Omagh Dominating the
last 30 minutes. An early goal looked like it killed off the Ardboe as they
didn’t register one score
and anything that was going didn’t go there way. Towards the end of the game
Ardboe also lost Hugh Cushnahan to a heavy late tackle. But it was a
disappointing end to the championship campaign and the league is till there for
the juveniles again Dromore that has yet to be fixed again. Full Time Ardboe
1-5 Omagh 4-11.
The seniors and Reserves will both face Carrickmore on
Saturday at 4pm and 5.30pm.
Well done to Eoin Quinn and Claire Graham who represented
the club at the half time game at the senior final on Sunday. Eoin and Claire
were both successfully picked during the summer camp earlier in August.
The last of the Under 10 blitz’s was held on the football
field on Saturday morning and is to be followed up by the last of the under 8’s
blitz’s this year again on Saturday at 10.30am. Any help would be much
appreciated.
