The reserves started their league campaign at home to Loughmacrory on Sunday with a 2-13 to 0-11 victory. Played in very strong winds the home side went in 3 points down at half time. In the second half they managed to outplay their opponents and record an 8 point win.
The minors where pitted away from home against their loughshore neighbours, Moortown, in their first league game of the season. In a keenly contested first half both teams went in level. The second half was more entertaining, each team matching the other score for score until Mattie Bell grabbed Ardboe a crucial goal with 10 minutes to go.
