The U14s made it three wins in a row, and three from four with victory over Coalisland on Wednesday evening

Ard 6-13
Oilean a Ghuail 2-06

Another two League points were at stake on Wednesday evening as the U14s took on Coalisland away in their rearranged Round 1 fixture.  And it was the Ardboe lads who ended up on the right end of the final scoreline, 6-13 to 2-06.

A strong start by the young Rossa's left them in a commanding position for the rest of the game, and an early goal by Barry Devlin settled the nerves.  In a game where both teams played some good attacking football, Ardboe extended their lead with another goal, this time from Caolan Mallaghan and a couple of David Mulgrew points.  Coalisland fought back strongy mid-way through the half and grabbed a goal of their own to narrow the gap.  Despite this, Ardboe responded strongly and another Devlin goal left them in a strong half time position, 4-04 to 1-04 ahead.

The second half started in much the same fashion with David Mulgrew adding points to extend the Ardboe lead.  Substitute Michael O'Neill found the net and a great move, finishing with a point for Oliver Mallaghan, pushed the Rossa's further ahead.  Despite a late rally from Coalisland, Oisin Devlin and Patrick Sheeky coped admirably in defence, allowing Ardboe to run out winners in the end.

Team: Conor Quinn; Patrick Sheeky, Oisin Devlin, Aiden O'Neill; Eddie Sheeky, Oliver Mallaghan, Kevin Coney; Ryan Sheeky, Gerard McVey; Michael Lynn, David Mulgrew, Daniel Brady; Caolan Mallaghan, Barry Devlin, Nathan Bell.  Subs used: Michael O'Neill, John Teague, Fintan Quinn, Joel McElroy and Manus Teague.
