Our Weekend of Sport kicks off on Friday evening with a Youth Disco in the marquee at the pitch.  The disco will run from 7 until 9pm, and admission is free.  All children, aged 14 and under, are encouraged to come along for what will surely be an entertaining evening.  Any parents willing to help out with supervision would also be greatly appreciated!

Saturday then sees the U16 girls take centre stage as they kick off their 7 a-side tournament.  Aodh Ruadh, Carrickmore and Errigal Ciaran will all be in attendance, making the tournament an excellent pre season run out for all concerned.  The tournament gets underway at around 12pm and will run for the most of the day.

Sunday will then host the bulk of the weekends activities with both an U14 Camogie tournament and the showpiece Minor event.  For the camogie, near neighbours Moortown, Brocagh, Derrylaughan and Derrytrest will compete in the 7 a side event.  The first game will commence at 1pm, and all players are asked to be at the pitch for 12:30.  As well as the camogs, bouncy castles and a sports day will take place for all children on the main pitch.

Later in the evening attention turns to the Minor tournament which is again a local affair with Moortown, Ballinderry and Derrylaughan competing for the main prize.  This tournament is 9 a-side with 3 subs, and the first semi final is expected to throw in around 4pm.  Between the two semi finals and the final, the club is hosting the return of the Parish Mile race, taking place over two laps of both pitches.  Anyone wishing to enter is asked to present themselves to any committee member during Sunday.

Finally, the weekend will draw to a close with a BBQ and music in the marquee on Sunday night.  Food is expected to be served around 8pm.  Limited tickets are still available from committee members at a cost of £5, so make sure to get in contact if you have yet to purchase one!
